Hugues Maignol

  • French
  • English

Hugues offers individual support for meditation and Buddhist practice to people who follow this path or wish to explore it.

You can bring a difficulty in meditation, a teaching you would like to understand more clearly, or a question arising in your personal or professional life. You do not need to identify as Buddhist or already have an established practice.

The first session is an opportunity to take stock of your situation, background and practice. Together with Hugues, you explore how a teaching or practice can shed light on the questions that matter to you, then choose something concrete to explore. Each session stands on its own. If you wish to continue, later sessions allow you to explore particular subjects in more depth, without committing to a series of meetings.

His approach is non-sectarian, open to different Buddhist traditions with respect for the distinct character of each. He has studied and practised Theravāda, Mahāyāna and Vajrayāna. Dzogchen is now the main focus of his study and practice. He sees the Buddhist path as a way to explore and transform the mind, with wisdom and compassion at its heart.

The support takes your teachers, lineage and commitments into account. Practices that require an introduction or transmission need a qualified teacher.

Hugues has worked as an engineer, entrepreneur and executive in the technology sector. He has also been a concert pianist. His experience of working under pressure, conflicts and team management helps him understand the circumstances in which Buddhist practice finds its place in everyday life. His practice of Japanese martial arts also informs his relationship with the body and his understanding of training the mind.

Sessions last one hour and take place at Dakini House in Auderghem, in French or English. The fee is €80 per session.
